Just a quick mention that I ran into three guys from Transition Bikes while on my Tour de Fernburg this afternoon. We exchanged pleasantries about my hog ( a term referring in this case to my Segway ). I’m in need of a bike and may check them out later this month. Cool site too.

I was just going through my bookmarks and I see one I created while attending (the PRWeb sponsored) Gnomedex 6.0 in Seattle. It’s for the blog of an energetic speaker who really resonated with me, Philip J. Kaplan of F’cked Company fame amoung other things. I didn’t get a chance to introduce myself, but the man is great at public speaking and coherently expressing himself, often amusingly. The site I bookmarked is Ask Pud, looks like he’s updated the theme since my first visit. It has a nice tidbit on password security and a happy ending to his recent experience with that, including this fine Death Metal Office Drumming which made me crack up.
His older posts, specifically the actual “Ask Pud” ones are pretty good as is this Tony Robbins post. If you’re unfamiliar with Senior Kaplan, I’d recommend making sure to keep an eye on his blog.
The Big Apple

Recently business took me to several points on the East Coast where I met with some interesting people. Without naming names - I really appreciated the company of everyone I met and shared meals with throughout my week long trip.
Being my first time to the Big Apple we did manage to catch a few sights and do a little of the tourist thing in-between meetings. Also thanks to some of the people I met with, who made a point of going out of their way to make sure I saw some of the important things. Like Rockefeller Center, Grand Central, Times Square and a few other places. Including a very cool and intelligent lady who made sure to get a picture of me in Times Square. (See fig. 1.)
I’ve been in several big cities, on the streets walking about - in the real grit of the cities. Including Vancouver, Seattle, San Francisco, Phoenix, Guadalajara and now New York. Out of all those places the nicest people overall, were from NY. We asked for directions and talked to people on the Metro, on the street, bell hops to security guards and all of them were very polite and helpful.
The cabbies were just what I expected. The cab ride from La Guardia to the hotel in Manhattan was frighteningly quick with frequent jerky motions. Despite the lack of finese the driver was apparently either skilled enough or stocked up on luck to not have been part of or caused an accident. In fact, I took a cab from SeaTac to my hotel on my return trip. That cabby was worse than anything NY had. NY cabbies with the exception of one who lied about where he dropped me off at and didn’t speak English were really nice. This one in Seattle spoke no English, cut off I don’t know how many people. Tried to take the long way, and actually rolled down the passengers side window to flip off a passing motorist and give his heavily accented version of a popular swear phrasing involving mothers. Unbelievable.
The heat and the humidity were the only parts I could have done without. Having my clothes stick to me is just a bit much. Oh yes and the attempted bombing or general mayhem terrorist activities for the Queens tunnel. I can do without that too. Next time I think I’d like to get in more sight-seeing, perhaps going on the helicopter tours I saw advertised.
Dog owners should be leashed.

Growing up we raised many dogs, German Shepard’s and purebred Pitbull Terriers each of which had many litters of pups. So for the record I am a dog lover, just not a dog owner lover.
Anyway, it’s a toasty hot day in the Fern and I’m out for a break on my Segway. Cruising down to the park, shocking the natives on my futuristic Jetson-mobile. Breeze rustling my hair like a Baywatch babe….WHAM!
I get caught in a blitzkrieg, pincher maneuver by two neighboring dogs, snapping and snarling at me.
I don’t blame the dogs. I blame the inbred looking owners watching this hybrid of man and machine battle two of Hells Hounds. My top-speed according to the fine folks at Segway is 12mph. I can’t really kick the pooches without a seriously likelihood of loosing my balance and eating pavement. I’m riding at top-speed, this could get ugly.
Like most dogs they give up after I’m far enough away from their yard. Of course now I’m stuck at the end of a dead end. I have no fear of dogs, I love them. But I also know those teeth can tear up my calves or other body parts I deem necessary. So after riding around for a bit, I decide to go top-speed past the houses again. This time they’re not there. Did their owners get off their duffs and intervene?
I don’t ponder the point too long and continue my cruising on over to the Nooksack. All in all it was a good ride. Though my titled point still stands. Those dog owners should be leashed.

Perhaps the greatest cartoon ever invented without a doubt is Invader Zim. (The original Transformers [G1], StarBlazers, Family Guy, Ren & Stimpy and such while excellent and some of my other favorites can not compare.) Of course against the wishes of the fans the show was ca
ncelled.
On behalf of all free thinking people I hereby decree that the show should be reactivated with as much haste as humanly possible. You of course can find the entirely over-priced box set on my Amazon wish-list and here’s a direct link to it, because everyone should own it.
I really can’t rant enough about this. When I get to be really, really filthy wealthy - my pack of rabid ninja attack attorneys are going to chew through the red tape and pistol whip some people to get this thing back into production.

Yes it’s still a beta project, I have some cool plans for it, but there’s just so many interesting things to work on all at the same time. I think I may have to expand our development team, but it’s really hard to find people who are of the caliber both technically and interpersonally as what I have now. I set the bar too high with these monkeys.
Anyways, to-date, my favorite PRWebPhotowire image is this gentleman. His rosy complexion makes me wonder if it was edited by his students or if he really is that red. A close runner up would have to be this one, titled America Screams. He snuck in before some additional error checking code was implemented to verify the image met our upload guidelines. I’ve left it up because its so great. To round us out I of course have to mention a photo of this guy, whom I’ve come to consider an interesting and somewhat excessively exuberant friend.
