Sony eBook Reader and Wizard at PRWeb

About a month ago I quietly unleashed a series of upgrades to PRWebs automatic PDF generation code. Each press release PDF which was automatically created with the latest content containing the active links and anchor tags now includes several new enhancements. Indexable embedded information such as the keywords, subject, headline and author. The PDF also sports bookmarks and an additional “Media Page” which may include a scaled news image, links to an associated podcast, media contact information and a link to the online version of the release.
These same enhancements were also included in the new “Reader Version”. A PDF optimized and tested on the new Sony eBook Reader days before their official launch. The end result is pretty sexy as the reader allows for jumping to bookmarks. (Digest Media Page example - click it.)
That was just the tip of the PDF iceberg.
The new features and formats were also applied to the eBook Digests. Collections of press releases by Industry Categories as well as to the new eBook Wizard available in every PRWeb users News Management Console. ( eBook Wizard Intro Page - click it. )
You’ll find the eBook Wizard is really pretty slick. It’s a six step process that asks you for some basic information to completely customize the end product. It’s current feature set includes the ability to create by groups or for your entire PRWeb account.
1. Specify keywords, subject, and author.
This is embedded into the PDF properties.
2. Customized coverpage - title, subtitle, and cover art.
This is actually pretty cool, you can upload your company logo, product picture, album cover, etc. Provide your own title and subheading. ( Click it ).
3. Optional company/personal profile page.
Another excellent feature, this allows you to supply a any text you’d like such as company bio, or anything else you want your readers to know about. This section accepts PRWebs hyperlink formating.
4. Full press release body with hyperlinks, anchor tags, bookmarks and Media Page.
The same great features that were recently added to the standard PRWeb press release pdfs.
5. Sony eBook Reader format optmized.
Two links are created and provided, one for the standard PDF and another that is optimized for the Sony Reader.
6. Preview and Publishing
This feature allows you to preview the PDF but is only accessible to you. You can then choose to publish the PDF and it will be accessible to anyone you provide the external link to. Publishing is a toggle setting allowing you to take the content offline as needed.
Watch for additional related features and services and remember all our content is freely available and accessible in various formats for your convenience.
