The construction crew showed up bright and early this morning. (Which normally wouldn’t be bad as I’d be on my way out the door to work. Alas I’ve been suffering from a bronchial infection this holiday season and despite being my usual chipper self have been bed ridden for a good portion of it.)
The unfinished basement doesn’t have any insulation and they turned up their radio pretty loud. Normally I’d get up and make a fuss, but I lost my voice a couple days ago and it’s still pretty hoarse.
Oh but wait it gets better, they have the radio on some sort of soft oldies rock from the 80’s. And that’s not all, just to make sure I go completely insane the youngest contractor fancies himself a singer.
“I died in your arms tonight….it must have been something you said….”
Now their arguing over the song, the younger one likes it, the older one not so much. All the while air compressors and hammering are creating a nice auditory backdrop.
Update 11:01AM: Voice cracking on high note - “Living like a refugee….”
