In the past few months I’ve treated myself to a few gadgets. Thanks to a few BestBuy gift cards including one from David and another as part of my winnings from Terry I purchased a
MyBook 500GB (half a terabyte baby) external drive, sporting both firewire and USB 2. I’ve been using this as a backup device for all my music, photos and important docs from my home workstation and laptops.
I also purchased a SanDisk Ultra® II SD™ Plus USB 1GB card for my digital camera. This is the kind that doesn’t require a card reader and “breaks” in half, having it’s own USB connection - very cool.
I still have a few memory sticks that require a reader, so I also picked up a USB SanDisk ImageMate® 5-In-1 Reader/Writer primarily for my laptop, the desktop has a built in one.
I love my MacBook Pro, it handles mounting of removable media much smoother than Windows, and more reliable than Linux, but with the same ability to access via CLI for automation. Muy sweet.
